Hunting Elephants

12 Polka DotToday Nora and I left the house at around 09:30 and didn’t get back home until aroun16:00.

We were busy hunting elephants!

We started at London Bridge, walking towards Tower Bridge. Then along the South Bank. Crossed over to Embankment Gardens, Trafalgar Square and Leicester Square.

We saw 41 elephants and there are 217 still to be found!

I’m going to rest my legs over the weekend and go out hunting again next week. It will be my last week with Nora… I feel sad.

Oh… if you want to see the photos of the elephants that we found, please click here.

Inhaler

That’s what the GP has prescribed for Nora. From the symptoms that I explained to the GP, she said it indicated asthma but they do not diagnosed asthma until the age of two. So, she’s prescribed the inhaler and asked us to come in again next week for a review.

I’ve always worried that this would happen that I insist that the living room where Nora spends most of her time must be clean… but what good is that if other part of the house is dusty… I guess its up to me to clear everything out.

That’s why I also insist that no one smokes around her… and if they do have a smoke, to have a change of clothes before holding her.

I have mild asthma and my siblings have severe asthma. It is not a fun thing to have… actually it can be very lethal.

There has to be a lot of changes around here and around Nora… and I will need a lot of support. Thank goodness my mom will be here soon. She has three children with asthma, she’ll know what to do.

Not Yet a Sky Diver

No matter how many barriers I put around her, she will always find a way to fall.

Today, she fell off the bed… again!

We keep telling her she’s not old enough to practice her sky diving and if she keeps doing it, we might have a visit by the social services. The Health Visitor has already lectured me about childproofing the house.

But with all the telling off, she would just look up at me and beam a smile.

She’s sitting on the floor now playing with her cups. Again I have pillows around her… but trust me, she will find a way to launch herself and fall on her head! I just hope she has a thick skull… like me… well, I just assume that I have a thick skull with the amount of time I fall on my head!

Hmmmmm… come to think of it… like mother like daughter?

Crying for a Kiss

Nora was screaming for at least an hour. I put her to bed but she woke up when Jules went out… although he closed the door as quietly as he could.

Usually I would take her to our bed and sleep with her but things has to change. We’re not on holiday anymore and we don’t have to worry about waking up hotel guests or my mom’s neighbours… so when she woke up the first couple of times, I went and hug her and tried to shush her back to sleep. But she kept waking up over and over again… so I left her to cry.

And boy did she cry!

She’s gone quiet again now… I really hope that she understands that it was really hard for me too to not get up and hold her tight. I hope she remembers that I love her…

Earlier today… as we were sitting on the sofa, instead of headbutting me, she leaned over and gave me a kiss and laughed… and kissed me again. It was a lovely moment… and I hope she’ll do it again… even though I left her to cry.

I texted Jules as I was worried that Nora would hate me… and Jules tole me that she loves me that she cries her eyes out for me. I hope that is true.

Homewards

Yesterday we received the call that our flight home has been rescheduled for Monday morning. By then, we would have been away for exactly a month!

It has been a good long ‘holiday’ but soon reality will bite and I will have about two weeks to spend with my beloved daughter before I head back to work. Not good.

Will update on our holiday when I get back. It’s just too busy that I don’t have much time to just sit around in front of the computer!

It’s Been A While

I’m so sorry for neglecting to write here for a long while… during most of the holiday. But it’s been a busy holiday! I can’t believe how tiring a holiday with a baby is! I seriously need another holiday after this one… mind you… we were supposed to be back in London last Sunday but due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland, we are still here in JB.

Oh well… it could be worse. We could be stuck in a more expensive country with no family to offer accommodation.

First Holiday

This time tomorrow we’ll be close to landing on the Land of Lions to head over to Malaysia. Our first family holiday.

I’ve prepared Nora’s food; roasted sweet potato sticks, banana bread sticks, chicken and a boiled egg for breakfast.

Hope she’ll be OK on the plane.

Little Miss Bump

Nora and I was sitting on the floor playing with her cups. As I said before, Nora is a ninja. At times she’s just fast a tad fast for me.

She threw one of her cups to the side and tried to get it again immediately. Before I could put my hand out she tipped to the side and hit her head on a bowl of water I used to cool her bottle.

Now she has a little bump on her head. Oh well… the first of many to come.

Mommies’ Night Out

Tonight, three mommies went out for curry and the daddies stayed at home to look after the babies.

The mommies spent most of the time out talking about their babies and checking their phones in case the daddies called.

The daddies didn’t call and the mommies had a good time talking having curry and talking about their babies until it was time to go home when they discussed the next time the would meet up with and without their babies.
