Morning Swing

What could spoil the sound of happy squeals from Nora as I push her faster and faster on a swing early this morning?

A naughty boy.

As shops open at 11am on Sundays, I decided that we’d leave early anyway and stop at the playground. Nora hasn’t really been out all week and what more to treat her by pushing her on the swing. She really does love being on a swing!

There she was happy and laughing when an older boy decided that he wanted to play on the baby swing too. He rushed over and stood in front of a swing occupied by another girl who was  being pushed by her dad. He was there so suddenly that the dad didn’t have time to stop the swing from hitting the boy. The boy fell and cried and screamed.

His mom rushed over with his little brother and he still insisted that he wanted to play on the baby swing. The mom put him in and told him that she’s going to put his baby brother in the pushchair and then they were going to go home.

Since he couldn’t swing himself properly, he got bored and tried to climb out of the swing. I was horrified. The mom was at the other side of the playground and I told the boy to wait… not that he listened. So, as I didn’t want another accident to happen, I helped him out… and he ran towards a boy with a little bicycle and tried to grab the bicycle away!

When I was pregnant… part of me wanted a boy… WHAT WAS I THINKING??!!

Nora Updates

I’ve been really bad at keeping records of what Nora’s been up to. Hmmm… Bad Mama!

On Friday, when I went home, my mom told me that she taught Nora to put all her toys away in a paper bag. Trust mom to teach Nora the fundametal of tidying up, which is good!! But them mom told me that once all the toys are in the bag, she’d empty it back out! LOL

Nora and I had the the whole bed over the weekend as Jules was away. When she woke up I just ignored her pleas of picking her up as I was still sleepy. So she turned on to her tummy and slowly pushed herself to a sitting position. Now I really can’t ignore her as she creates havoc when she’s up right!

What else? We’ve discovered that she loves fish (especially my portion of fish when I bought fish and chips), tofu, raspberries, blackberries and gnawing on lamb chop!

She’s really good at taking her Calpol but hates her inhaler. Cutting her nails is a nightmare as she would not stay still!!

She has five teeth now. Two at the the bottom and three at the top… and I think I can see more coming.

Oh… she loves shoes… biting on them, not wearing them.

She does not like to be covered by blankets when she sleeps.

I’m sure there’s more… and I must update about it more often… before it all becomes distant memory.

Swinging in the Heat

We went to the playground yesterday. I think now that I’m working fulltime, I feel that I need to make more time for Nora over the weekend. So, even though it was hot and it was quite a walk to the park, it something I’m willing to ignore so that Nora could have some playtime with her friends.

But we didn’t spend too much time on the swing in the end as it was too hot. Instead we sat in the shaded area of the park and the mothers had a chat while the babies play. And us mothers were also so protective of our babies as we told off a bunch of boys to play somewhere else after their football fell in the middle of our circle. Luckily the ball did not fall on any of the babies or we would have gone on a rampage! We have been warning the boys over and over again, but that was the last straw.

It must have been the heat. We were ready to fight anyone!

Deen City Farm

The sun is out!! And Nora’s been grumpy the whole night and morning. We were going to Ivy’s for a little baby playtime in the afternoon, but she’s been such a grump that I decided to take her out early instead. So we head to the farm.

It was a lovely walk and for the first time I had her pram face forward rather than facing me. I think she likes it. She could see the world better.

It is a lovely little farm. Nora saw loads of flowers, horses, birds, bunnies, cows, sheep, goat, a big fat pig in mud, turkeys and chickens. But she was still grumpy.

I think she’s punishing me for leaving her for the whole of last week. I can’t seem to do anything right for her at the moment.

Oh well…

Left Crying by the Window

This morning Nora was sitting by the window watching us leave. Instead of waving and smiling like she has been doing for a few days now, she was crying.

It was a heart wrenching moment…

Referral

I skipped lunch so I could leave early and take Nora to the GP. Her cough hasn’t gotten any better. The GP asked me if I want Nora to see a specialist. I decided that it might be best.

Poor little mite.

My mom told me that Nora cried this morning. My mom will bring her to the window so we could wave at each other. Today, when we left her sight… she cried.

My poor baby…

Habits Not to be Started

We were sitting on the sofa, and Jules was holding Nora.

Suddenly, there was a loud bum trumpet.

Jules looked at Nora shocked… and I was like ‘Yeah, blame it on the baby’. But Jules kept denying and the look on his face made me believe him.

No, it wasn’t very ladylike and Jules told her so. But what does he expect if her breaks wind in front of her all the time? She’s going to think it’s the norm.

AND I was cleaning her nose and pulled out a huge bogey. I asked Jules to bring the bin over the bin, he said not to bring the bogey near him and jokingly said ‘just put it in her mouth’.

??!!

We should really be better example to her. *sigh*

Of Shoe and Sock

When we were in Malaysia, we bought Nora some shoes as, not only they look lovely, they were also cheap.

However, Nora isn’t used to shoes so when I put a pair on her when we went out for lunch with my mom and my sister, Yana, she sneakily took one off to play with it. Mom said that she would lose her shoe soon.

Well… should never wish for something you don’t want to happen. On Tuesday, we went out shopping and when we were in Boots, I noticed her shoe missing!! I tried to retrace our steps but found no shoe.

Now I give her the shoe that is left to play with and she’s happy.

Yesterday, as we were walking along South Bank, and said bye-bye to Jules as he has to get back to work, I noticed her sock missing!!

We walked for ages and no way will I retrace my steps for her sock. But it wasn’t that warm either and I put socks on her because she always kick her blankets off.

We walked all the way to the aquarium to look for the last elephant on our list and when we didn’t find it we walked back towards the RFH. Nora started to grumble and we sat at a bench I told her off about her sock.

A few minutes later, a German tourist came over and handed over to me the missing sock!! It must have been about 30 minutes after I noticed the sock was missing… how lucky was that? In a busy touristy area, somebody actually noticed a sock and we happened to sit on the next bench to them.
