It was a sad day on Friday.
We had a lovely ‘leaving do’ for Mommy L. Yes, I know leaving do’s are for those who leave their work place but being a mom is an unpaid full time job so she deserved a leaving do before she goes back to her 9 to 5 job.
At 1pm we met up to head over to Earlsfield’s One O’clock Centre. Four mommies and four babies. It was kind of nice to have a little group. Usually I go there with Mommy L or on my own… When I say on my own, I meant Nora and me. We met up another mommy and her two children there and took over the sensory room!
The mommies chatted and the babies played.
After that we head over to the pub. I’ve been to that pub with Nora before… but then she was just one baby, we weren’t very sure how they would react with four babies!
We didn’t have to worry. The guy behind the bar ran to the door and held it open for us and gave us a warm welcome. He then suggested places for us so we could sit comfortably with our babies. What a service!
We toasted to Mommy L and chatted and chatted and chatted. We ordered some bar food and the babies loved the chips… OK the mommy loved the chips but we can’t appear greedy now, can we?
It was sad when it was time to go. I could see Mommy L was really sad… and I was thinking ‘This is horrible!’ and I’m sure I will bawl my eyes out when it’s my turn to return to work… which is not long to go. How I wish we could afford me staying with Nora for a bit longer… but we have mortgage and bills to pay… and soon Nursery on top of that!
