Where’s Mama?

For the first time since Nora arrived, I went out! Just for a coffee with Kamiks, a work colleague.

I left around 4pm, after feeding Nora and left her to sleep on the bed. Don’t worry. I didn’t just leave her; of course I waited for Jules to come home first!

When I got to my stop, I checked my phone and Jules left a text saying the Nora woke up right after I left. I text back apologizing for slamming the door. By then Kamiks arrived and we went to look for a coffee place which is not a ‘Setabak’.

It was nice to catch up with gossips and stuff. Kamiks asked if I missed adult conversations… and to be honest… No. I love my time with Nora… even when she was screaming. Anyway, I’m too busy to miss anything. One thing I know, I’ll miss Nora when I have to go back to ‘adult conversation’ world.

Just when we were getting ready to leave… or waiting for the waitress for receipt… I don’t know why service was so slow because it was empty; maybe they were annoyed with us just having coffee and hot chocolate… I checked my temperamental phone again and saw there was another text from Jules saying that Nora hasn’t stopped crying!

Felt a jolt of panic and guilt… but I know Jules would be fine.

I forgot how slow the rush hour train is. When I got home around 8pm, it’s all quiet. Jules gave Nora a bath and her feed and she’s tucked in bed.

I told Jules that Nora does get quite persistent with her crying, plus she could be teething… and Jules told me that he could feel that she was looking for her mama. Aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwww… but she didn’t need her mama because she had her daddy.

Tomorrow we’re going to Songs and Stories. We’ll stop at Boots and get some teething powder, and to Sainsbury’s to get some cucumber to make sticks for her to chomp on.
