Have A Taste

We went out for lunch again today and as we didn’t bring the pushchair, Nora sat on my lap. She still can’t sit on her own on a highchair but soon come.

When lunch arrived… I don’t like cucumber and Jules doesn’t like tomato so we picked them out of our lunch. Then I had a thought… I know that babies shouldn’t be fed until six months but they don’t really eat anything at five months, they just play… so I thought why not let her experiment.

I gave her my cucumber.

She started gnawing it but it was a bit too big for her hand. I passed her the tomato. Bad idea as it’s soft so she could actually chomp on it so I took it away from her and gave her a salad leaf instead.

Perfect. She held it and gnawed on it until I finished my lunch.

I did give her a piece of pepper a couple of days ago… which she licked… made a face and threw it to the floor.

I’ve noticed her copying chewing motion… so I think this baby-led weaning thing will actually work.

And she’s fascinated every time I take a sip from my cup. So when I have tea, I give her her little cup so she could imitate me.

*sigh* My little baby is growing up.
