I Got Ouch!

At last I took Nora for her second MMR jab. It’s been a while that I forgot to bring her red book with me. The nurse just have to fill it in later (writing this in the off chance I’ll reread this post and bring the red book over).

Anyway, I was so worried about the jab. Not because of the aftereffect or things like that… more that Nora would scream and cry! But it was all unwarranted. It went really quick and probably she felt a jolt, but the nurse and I distracted her by cheering… well either that or she was looking at us like a pair of maniacs.

She received her ‘brave’ sticker and was happy for that… but on the way out she looked at me and said ‘I got ouch!’

Probably the jab didn’t hurt as much as the pinch she received from another toddler in nursery. Nora’s been having nightmares lately screaming out ‘No’, ‘Naughty, (toddler’s name)’ and ‘No, I don’t like that’… makes me wonder what she’s dreaming about or what happened to her when she’s not with me.

Wish Mama is always there to protect you but you have to learn that the world is not a nice place sometimes…

Phone call

Nora has a little plastic toy phone with Peppa Pig stickers on it. This was her quick fictional call to her mother this morning :-

“Hello Momma? Are you there? I love you. Your monkey pajamas over there, Ok? Byeeeeeeeee’

Bless up!

BFF

A couple of minutes before she fell asleep, Nora turned to me and gave me a hug and said ‘You’re my best friend’. How can my heart not melt?

Monster in the Cupboard?

Nora woke up in the middle of the night… chatting and then sobbing. I was watching TV and rushed in to console her, which usually works, but not last night. She kept on crying and crying.

When we came back from the bathroom and Jules switched the light on, I told her to lie down and she refused. She kept pointing to the cupboard and sobbing.

Were there terrifying, tricky creatures in the cupboard like the ones in the Charlie and Lola book?

She did calm down eventually and I read ‘Fix It Duck’ to her and she then fell into a restless sleep.

Poor little mite.

I Need to See Doctor

Nora woke up on Tuesday telling me she had temperature and she did. I spent the whole Monday night checking up on her as I could feel she was hot.

So I stayed at home with her, giving her Calpol and Ibuprofen and using wet towel to cool her down… and no… I didn’t take her immediately to the doctor because from my past experiences, the doctor will just advice me to give her Calpol or Ibuprofen and nothing more.

But come this morning, Nora told me she has temperature and ‘I want to see doctor’… oh well, why not? I need to get her eczema cream anyway.

So we I called for an appointment and we went. As usual Nora was really good when the doctor checked her ears and throat. The conclusion…

She has tonsillitis!

Thank goodness I listened to Nora and took her to the doctor!

We got her antibiotics and hopefully she will get better soon.
