After spending Saturday morning running around trying to make sure that I’ve packed everything for the day out, and then getting from Lizzie a text saying that Ivy was ill, we made it to the first ever LolliBop Festival.

It was amazing!!

They cordon off a large section of the park and judging from the queue when we got there, they do need a huge space! I couldn’t believe how long the queue was and wondered how did they find out about the festival. I wouldn’t have if Lizzie didn’t tell me… and she wouldn’t have if someone else didn’t pass her the information. Word of mouth… or in this day and age… cyber space?

But fortunately I had a piece of paper saying that we won tickets to the festival, thanks to Jules. So, leaving Lizzie and the babies in the queue, just in case, I walked towards the ticket box and when someone say, anyone in the guest list, it was nice to say ‘Hey! Me!’ and then walk off the queue and into the festival.

It was like Glastonbury but for babies, toddlers and kids.

Nora had her first disco at the Miniscule of Sound, and then we went to see the animals at the mini farm. There was soft playing areas for under 5′s and a chill out area with banana plants and sand pits. There was a face painting tent, bouncing castles, a huge whale… and pimp my pram… which we did! But I didn’t go that crazy and pimping Nora’s pram… just a bit of ‘diamond’ studs and butterflies… and a feather boa.

The baby changing area was nice and clean, and they even provide nappies, wipe, Elle’s Kitchen food, juice!! I was impressed.

There was loads of activities and entertainment for the kids… it was the best festival ever! I really hope they will do it again.

And after vowing that I will not buy Nora another balloon… travelling back in a busy tube with a Dora the Explorer balloon that is bigger than your baby is not fun… seeing how much she loves her balloon I guess I will. I’m such a softie.
