On Tuesday as I was walking back from nursery with Nora and chatting with her about her day, Nora told me that Sam said that he’s going to marry her. I thought ‘Awwwww… that is so cute’

Yesterday, as we were getting ready for bed I told Jules about Sam’s plan and Jules told Nora that she is too young to get married, to which Nora argued that she is not. Jules reminded her that she is three years old and that is too young to which Nora disagreed.

He then asked her how old does she need to be able to get married.

SIXTEEN she said… in a ‘duh… everybody knows that’ tone of voice.

I asked her who told her about the legal marriage age… and again with her ‘duh… everybody knows that’ tone of voice she answered ‘nobody’ and proceeded to look at her story book to indicate the matter is now closed!

And that was that.

The conversation we had on our fourth wedding anniversary

Last Friday, we met up with Liz and Nathaniel at the library as there was no Friday Frogs. When Nora and I got to the library we saw Andrea with Ella and Baby Lucas. Nora and Ella started playing and choosing books while Andrea and I chatted. Our little Toots get together completed when Liz arrived with Nathaniel.

As the moms chatted, Nora started jumping about. Not the quietly jumping but seriously loud stomping kind of jumping. Ella and Nathaniel must have decided that it was fun and funny and joined in. So, we had three toddlers jumping up and down and the moms trying to shush them to no avail…

Until…

The librarian came over and told us to keep it down as the floor is not really sound proof and people down stairs can actually hear the stomping.

Oh dear… the last time I was told off by a librarian was in University and trust me that was a long time ago.

That did the trick and they stopped but didn’t stop them from redecorating the library with books everywhere.

Sigh…

Well… I’ve signed Nora up to do ballet and maybe… just maybe she’ll stop stomping around!

Yeah… I can hear you say ‘Wishful thinking…’

“To fight baddies!”

Errrm… OK. So I got some kitchen roll card bit that we kept and made her… errm… I guess… a baddie fighting weapon and a telescope.

They kept her out of my hair for a few minutes to do the dishes

Today, as any other day, she says ‘Me too.’

Today, unlike any day, she added ‘I love myself.’

Oh well… at least I know that she has not self loathing problem.

This evening, before bed time, Jules helped Nora soak the egg and apparently a dinosaur will come out tomorrow.

Nora comes up with fantastic stories sometimes and I should really write them down. Like tonight she was talking about the dinosaur egg hatching and when the dinosaur comes out, it will start growling and look for something to eat. It will eat mama and daddy. Nora will be fine as dinosaurs do not eat children.

I asked her who she would live with after the dinosaur eats mama and daddy… straight away she answered ‘Coco’ her hamster, because don’t eat hamsters either.

She said she will miss her mama and daddy… but hey, I guess life goes on (the last sentence is mine, not hers).

Hmmmmm… I think we need a bit more lesson on hygiene.

I scrubbed the bath tub earlier that day and just before dinner time Jules cleaned the fish tank and must have tipped the dirty water in the tub. I heard him telling Nora that he’s going to clean the tub before I found out and get annoyed with him. I also heard him telling Nora not to tell me about the mess.

Of course she did the opposite. Silly daddy

I walked into the bedroom. Nora was on the bed on her tummy wriggling/slithering.

Conversation:

Me: Nora! What are you doing?
Nora: I’m a slug. I don’t have a shell. I’m a slug.

Hmmmm… OK.

He told me that last week when they went to the park, they had races and Nora won all three races… effortlessly according to TJ… so they decided to get her a prize.

I think everyone in Busy Bee is going to miss Nora when she moves over to pre-school.

As for her speed… I don’t know where she gets that from!
